* Mini Series on Second Life’s LEA Sim’s *

This is going to be the start of my mini travels to different areas on Second Life’s LEA Sim’s.

LEA = The Linden Endowment for the Arts

These are basically giant Sandboxes for Second Life’s Artists. They can rez, build, create, and build whatever fantasy’s or ideas they have swarming around their minds. This is a giant collaboration between the Lindens and the art community in Second Life.

LEA-Art-sandbox-alex-.3-odd-mirror_001

This is pretty awesome. Some of the areas I’ve seen already are very wild and abstract. I love this, being able to see everyone’s different thoughts and what they create from them.

LEA14-alex3_001 LEA14-alex6_001

My good friend Alex (alex.putzo) actually introduced me to LEA, he knows I love finding out about places I’ve never been. And I’m so glad he brought me here thanks Alex. Also, took a few snap shots from the spots we stopped by, so everyone can see a little bit or what LEA is all about.

LEA14-alex2_001 LEA14-alex_001

Also, there are a few different pages to visit if you want to know more about LEA.

* SL Star Wars – Planet of Taris *

I had been to this location a while ago. And with talk of the new Star Wars movie it reminded me of this spot. So, I wanted to check it out & let everyone know of this great place.

Star Wars Skyline

Welcome to Planet of Taris / Furious Star Wars Avatars

http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/The%20Outer%20Rim/230/160/75

The Furious Star Wars Avatars is a shop that they have with different items that would fall into the Star Wars world. They have some pretty cool items to check out.

Furious Star Wars Avatars

And when you first land on the Planet of Taris you will be in this building and not sure where to head to. There are a few different rooms to see in here. Along with some characters, you will see a blue tag over the tops of their heads. This is to help you know what their names are. Walk up to each character and click on them see what they have to say.

Star Wars

You will find a door that will lead you outside, when you get there grab the HUD on the sign to the right. The really cool thing about The Planet of Taris is you can completely interact with almost everything.

Star Wars Alien girl

When you get the HUD on look at local chat, along with clicking on characters to find out what the objectives are. You get to go around this planet talking to different people and doing different hunts. The further you go some may get more complicated.

Star Wars - Jabba the Hutt

The nice thing you can have a few different hunts going on at once if you happen to get stumped. Bring some friends with you, since there is a one where you will be able to do some Swoop Racing. Like seen in the movies. Its a lot of fun.

Star Wars Swoop RaceStar Wars Swoop Race

There are lots of different buildings and people to meet all over.

Star Wars

Up near the starting area where you first landed, there is a ship that lands to pick people up every so often. And from here you can fly to other planets and locations, where you can find other people for different objections to get by. But, for those who are not interested in doing the hunts this is still a really fun place to explore. Lots of land and plenty to see.

Star Wars Tree

The Planet of Taris is a wonderful escape into the world of Star Wars. Grab some friends and head over here. 😀

Welcome to The Amazon Rainforest ~!

This place is intense. When I landed I was not expecting it to be as crazy and exciting as it turned out to be. When you land here, you will see some signs near you explaining a bit about the land. There is a HUD you wear so you can fully immerse yourself into this area. Make sure to grab that off of the tall sign near the landing.

The first thing I did when I got here was hop on a kayak and started to explore from the rivers. I thought this was a great way to see a bit of everything. From lil’ colorful froggies-

Aviary Photo_130661354638935066

To beautiful birds and native huts

Aviary Photo_130661366086759411

Busted up rope bridges ( pass over these with caution )

Aviary Photo_130661353545496505And I also came near this random opening in a mountain. There was a camera above the entrance, so I  made sure to pass by carefully. Hopefully this wasn’t an entrance for loggers living in the area….

Aviary Photo_130661365130135757

After my tour through the water I decided to hop off the kayak near by and started to check out the area by foot. This is a giant 5 SIM Forest, so there is plenty to view while you are here.

Aviary Photo_130661343177189516

As I was wandering around I found some villages, and I was glad to see that they were all very friendly to me being a new comer. I just let them know I was exploring, they wished me well along with warning me to be careful about the dangers in the forest. I said thank you and headed deeper into the forest.

Aviary Photo_130661338666767918Aviary Photo_130661364347460256I found myself passing by beautiful ruins and waterfalls.

Aviary Photo_130661339614969418Near this waterfall I found a Giant Ruin with two Snake people statues outside the entrance. Definitely frightening, but I headed towards them from my curiosity. This was a very spooky looking area.

Aviary Photo_130661337901873038Not far from here I found a giant Mayan Temple, that even had a secret passageway ( I will leave the entrance for you to find 😀 ).

Aviary Photo_130661362033288031 Then I started walking through the lush forest my eyes wide with everything I’ve already seen, feeling way to comfortable with my surroundings.

Aviary Photo_130661361016761597I ended up getting chased by a crocodile!!!

Aviary Photo_130661336995944183

And as I ran away out of terror, I stepped onto of a snake. Which pissed him off and I was bit. Things were blurry and slightly blank.

Aviary Photo_130661340507789258Now being injured and a bit woozey, I’m glad I still manged to get away. I found a nearby rope ladder and headed for higher ground.

Aviary Photo_130661341188595711The site was amazing from here, being able to see the entire forest.

Aviary Photo_130661351816343085

I spent the last of my adventure sitting above the canopy, taking in the beauty that I saw all around.

Aviary Photo_130661351088268256

So, now you know what awaits you in The Amazon. I say go for it, there is so much beauty to this place. And so much more left to see.

I hope you all take a chance and head into the jungle. You never know what you may find. But, you wont know unless you go.

Anyone who has ever seen the movie Avatar. Will already know what you might come across upon visiting. Everything you might be thinking is probably completely correct.

Avatarenter-beach_001_edited

This whole area is filled with so many amazing colors.

Aviary Photo_130602568860721946

Beautiful plants,

Aviary Photo_130602568207995345

and animals.

Aviary Photo_130602566483689925

There are so many areas you can walk through even little paths that may seem hidden.

Avatarenter-waterfall_001_edited

Climb through the levels of a giant tree, see where the Na’vi people sleep, eat, meditate, heal each other, along with many other wonderful sights.

Avatarenter-tree_001_edited

Its amazing being able to immerse yourself into this movie. Everything has been brought to life.

Avatarenter-soul,tree_001_edited

I really loved being able to see the floating mountains. Such an amazing place.

Once you get to the floating mountains, its so beautiful up there. Just make sure not to fall off.

Aviary Photo_130610074454671013

You can also check out the human area, to see the machines that helped the humans turn into the Na’vi people.

Avatarenter-science.humanarea-box_001_editedAvatarenter-science.humanarea-Na'vi-table_001_edited

Along with the rest of the items used by the humans.

Avatarenter-science area_001_edited

These are only a few of the things you can see as you explore this area. Make sure to wear the explorers tag from the entrance. Before you tp into Na’vi territory. Don’t want to be a threat to the Na’vi people, who you can run into while you are here. This is also a great spot for photos, I can’t get over how amazing the colors are. So vibrant.

I really hope everyone takes a moment out of busy days or night. To do a bit of wandering around Planet Avatar. You will  not be disappointed.

Catch you guys next time.

* The Pharaoh’s Tomb *

I was brought to this place by a friend a while ago. And, I remembered having so much fun walking through the pyramid. Avoiding the snakes & scorpions. The best part this place puts you inside of your own Indiana Jones adventure.

Welcome to the Pharaoh’s Tomb, of The Da Vinci Gardens SIM.

http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Kalepa/75/134/1964

Aviary Photo_130554040615371416

When you first land in this area you are surrounded by an entire Egyptian themed SIM. You’ll see a Gennie lamp that you can click on to find other areas you can teleport to. The Da Vinci Gardens SIM holds many other themed spots besides this Egyptian area.

As you can see from the picture above there are a few different ways you can be given a tour of this location. If you want to take up into the sky to see a birds eye view you can choose to hop in the hot air balloon,

Aviary Photo_130554039514439145

or my favorite the flying magic carpet. If you want to stay closer to the ground you can choose to take a ride on the golden scarab beetle, tour on the beautiful river by boat, and also

Aviary Photo_130554042134494565

take this guided tour being carried around by these four gentlemen.

Aviary Photo_130554045472180837

You can also find many romantic spots to relax and take photographs.

Aviary Photo_130553509608226412

If you are looking for more of an adventure this place is filled with plenty to keep you on your toes. There spots for you to dig up some buried treasures.

Aviary Photo_130554043064234580

Even Chariot races against your friends.

Aviary Photo_130554035949164948

Now for the reason I love this spot the most. The Pharaoh’s Tomb you’ll find yourself outside of this gigantic pyramid. But, don’t think this will be an easy adventure to get to the Pharaoh’s treasure chamber. You will find many obstacles to get past before you make it there.

Aviary Photo_130554038097870153

Make sure to set your daylight settings to midnight for the best experience. You will come across many trap doors, scorpions, fire, moving & falling platforms, alligators, mummy’s, and many other life threatening things. This pyramid made me feel like I was in my own Indiana Jones adventure. I haven’t had this much fun running through obstacles in  a long time.  Also keep your eyes peeled for golden scarabs a long the way they like to hand out Linden dollars if you choose the right amount 😀 .

Aviary Photo_130554036898573712

When you survive to the end, you’ll be face to face with the Pharaoh’s tomb in the treasure chamber. Everything glimmering with gold. Don’t forget to click on his tomb, you could have a chance to win some Linden Dollars here also.

Not wanting to ruin the surprise of the obstacles you will come across, I’ve only posted a couple pictures from inside the pyramid. Wouldn’t want to take the fun away from this experience.

I hope you all take the time to check this place out and bring all your friends to join in on the fun.
