* Early Valentines ~ Welcome to FRANCE PORTNAWAK – Aquarelle *

Just in time for Valentines Day ~

Along with being my 1st year anniversary post~ Hurray ~!!

It has been one year since I started up TourSL searching the grid for destinations to visit. So, I wanted to find something different. And, I stumbled across one of the most beautiful and dreamy locations that I’ve seen.

Welcome to France Portnawak – Aquarelle

This beautiful location makes you feel like you stepped into a watercolor painting. There are transparent areas in the trees and landscape that gives off the feel of real watercolors.

Aviary Photo_130681133287952053

The creators of this beautiful piece of artwork brought to life are Lecia Arado & ChimKami. I had spoken with both of them, wanting to get an insight into Aquarelle. I asked where the idea for this place and the watercolor look came from. They told me that they have known each other for many years & are both very tuned to one another. This idea started out with the feelings of being Zen & peaceful.

Aviary Photo_130681124515615538

From the idea of a tree they spoke and discussed their feelings while collaborating with each other to put their feelings into the SIM. Creating the outline of the area, of lightness & serenity everything started to evolve from there.

Aviary Photo_130681129537429527

Into a beautiful misty transparent watercolor world that you see now.

Aviary Photo_130681137559206783

They really wanted the softness of color to show something clean & pure. For them it wasn’t a set out plan. As their imaginations started forming different ideas this beautiful location emerged from them. Showing something that these two are very proud to show & want to share with everyone.

Aviary Photo_130681139261064742

And this is what their moods & imaginations transformed into.

Aviary Photo_130681136328329807Aviary Photo_130681134921476404

There is also a shop at the top. Where some free mesh items for men & women are along with other items that can be bought. All of the profits from the items are used  for the benefit of the SIM.

I hope everyone takes a visit to this lovely place. And being close to Valentines day you could bring that special someone for a perfect date. Their are beautiful spots for photos.

Aviary Photo_130681117252175150

An area where you can get a horse to ride,

Aviary Photo_130681117804576428

And also areas for couples to dance around the painted colors.

Aviary Photo_130681120252609736

There is also a board with the different spots you can TP too.

* The Pharaoh’s Tomb *

I was brought to this place by a friend a while ago. And, I remembered having so much fun walking through the pyramid. Avoiding the snakes & scorpions. The best part this place puts you inside of your own Indiana Jones adventure.

Welcome to the Pharaoh’s Tomb, of The Da Vinci Gardens SIM.

http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Kalepa/75/134/1964

Aviary Photo_130554040615371416

When you first land in this area you are surrounded by an entire Egyptian themed SIM. You’ll see a Gennie lamp that you can click on to find other areas you can teleport to. The Da Vinci Gardens SIM holds many other themed spots besides this Egyptian area.

As you can see from the picture above there are a few different ways you can be given a tour of this location. If you want to take up into the sky to see a birds eye view you can choose to hop in the hot air balloon,

Aviary Photo_130554039514439145

or my favorite the flying magic carpet. If you want to stay closer to the ground you can choose to take a ride on the golden scarab beetle, tour on the beautiful river by boat, and also

Aviary Photo_130554042134494565

take this guided tour being carried around by these four gentlemen.

Aviary Photo_130554045472180837

You can also find many romantic spots to relax and take photographs.

Aviary Photo_130553509608226412

If you are looking for more of an adventure this place is filled with plenty to keep you on your toes. There spots for you to dig up some buried treasures.

Aviary Photo_130554043064234580

Even Chariot races against your friends.

Aviary Photo_130554035949164948

Now for the reason I love this spot the most. The Pharaoh’s Tomb you’ll find yourself outside of this gigantic pyramid. But, don’t think this will be an easy adventure to get to the Pharaoh’s treasure chamber. You will find many obstacles to get past before you make it there.

Aviary Photo_130554038097870153

Make sure to set your daylight settings to midnight for the best experience. You will come across many trap doors, scorpions, fire, moving & falling platforms, alligators, mummy’s, and many other life threatening things. This pyramid made me feel like I was in my own Indiana Jones adventure. I haven’t had this much fun running through obstacles in  a long time.  Also keep your eyes peeled for golden scarabs a long the way they like to hand out Linden dollars if you choose the right amount 😀 .

Aviary Photo_130554036898573712

When you survive to the end, you’ll be face to face with the Pharaoh’s tomb in the treasure chamber. Everything glimmering with gold. Don’t forget to click on his tomb, you could have a chance to win some Linden Dollars here also.

Not wanting to ruin the surprise of the obstacles you will come across, I’ve only posted a couple pictures from inside the pyramid. Wouldn’t want to take the fun away from this experience.

I hope you all take the time to check this place out and bring all your friends to join in on the fun.

* The Leviathan Skeleton *

This is a pretty cool location, I had come across it while I was out boating around. I ended up flying right into this island and couldn’t believe what I saw in front of me.

Welcome to The Leviathan Skeleton

http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Ahab’s%20Haunt/116/143/23

Leviathan-island_001

As you can see there is a giant dinosaur skeleton on top of this island in the middle of the sea.

Leviathan-island-5_001

From the head all the way to the tail you can see this skeleton is a giant.

Leviathan-island-4_001

There is even a pool that fills the center of the island where you can float around on little tubes.

Leviathan-island-34_001

Different places to relax along the beach.

Leviathan-island-2_001

And plenty of sunken ships, along with other items to explore in the center lagoon.

Leviathan-island-3_001

You might even get lucky to spot sailboats cruising around you, this area of the sea is also used for sailboat races.

Leviathan-island-6,boat-racer_001

I happened to just catch someone nearby practicing for their next up coming race. And they really are cruising fast on the water.

I actually really enjoyed finding this location, and finding it by chance made this all the more fun to write about. The Leviathan island is a very relaxing place to just get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday things, or just to explore. There’s a small pier on the island where you can rez a boat into the water and set out to see what you can come across yourself. They even have a little free sailboat to pickup for those without boats of their own. Its a nice simple sailboat that’s also easy to steer and maneuver around places.

Leviathan-island-1_001

I hope everyone has fun adventuring to this Dino island like I have. See ya next time ~

* Never Grow Up *

This post hits a little closer to home. A couple days ago I had watched the movie Hook, which I have loved since I was little when it first came out. I can bet I wore out the VHS that it was on, from all the replay.

Hook

So, I thought hmmm…. I wonder if there is anything Peter Pan or Neverland related in Second Life.

At first I had found post from the early 2000’s on a Peter Pan themed location, but sadly it no longer exists, and the second place I found was on MJ’s Neverland Ranch. All which are wonderful, but not exactly what I was searching for.

http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/TheNewNeverLand/230/93/22

Then to my surprise, I found a place called The New Neverland, Never Grow Up Adoption’s, and I was super excited. Haha really I almost felt like a child again.

Aviary Photo_130455557472450243

Turns out that my Uncle Scorch (Scorch Lundquist/Warrior) is a Co-Owner along with his family: Elisa Lundquist (wife), Jess Marie Lundquist (daughter), and Ama Kaira Arkright-Optera (mother-in-law) who all help run this location. Along with the builders/employees who have done and amazing job : Kiddo Figga Arkright ,Drewcifer.Woodrunner ,Serenity Remsen . Majority of the building has been done by : Drewcifer.Woodrunner , and Kiddo Figga Arkright. Who by looking at every detail added to this SIM, you can tell heart was definitely put into this location.

This New Neverland is set up amazingly they even went off a map from the book to make the location as realistic to the book as they could. Also worked on the water ways trying to make them as accurate as possible.

Aviary Photo_130454728151636619

When you first land you are greated by every character from the story that you love Peter Pan, Wendy, Tinker Bell, Capt. James Hook, and last but not least Mr. Scheme . To the left in the ocean you can see Capt. Hook’s ship which in the future could host some awesome dance parties aboard ( Def. looking forward to that), amazing Gacha events for the future, paintball, and greedy games also.

Aviary Photo_130455558780511614

Something a bit different here than other locations, but still holds true to Peter’s story. Helping out the Lost Boys. This destination is also an Adoption agency named Never Grow Up (which fits this area perfectly). So, for anyone looking to adopt or even being a foster family this is a great place to head to, with panels for orphans and parents. They also have a medical area for anyone needing a bit of help with the little ones.

Aviary Photo_130454722415349205

As, I walked around from the entrance the first area I found myself looking at is a small bunker where you can play paint ball. I’ve never played before but knowing that its here, I think I may have to try it out.

Aviary Photo_130454750786584647

Next I found a bunch of shopping kiosks down this path, filled with plenty of childrens clothing and different items. A lovely place to go if you are looking to by your little prince or princess something new.

Aviary Photo_130454753832889809

Not too far from the Kiosks is also a Building with shops and some Gacha machines.

Aviary Photo_130454755389816492

There are some cute little camps and tents set up, with a small pillow out front saying (Goodnight Moon)

Aviary Photo_130454750112956032

And, campfires throughout the SIM.

Aviary Photo_130454752872210406

Towards the far end from the entrance, you will find yourself in front of the beautiful log cabin home, for all of the children.

Aviary Photo_130454729951566087

Out front there is a wonderful play area and jungle gym.

Aviary Photo_130454752014030044

As, you walk through the front door you see a very large front room, where a T.V. will be placed. For family movie’s and game nights.

Aviary Photo_130454747092863973

Walk to the right and you will see their beautiful kitchen and cafeteria. Soon, the entire SIM will be all 100% Life HUD compatible. Creating a more life like environment, and making everything more realistic. Where eating, sleeping, bathing are all necessities to stay healthy or the life meter starts to go down.

Aviary Photo_130454746427035939

Also on the first floor of the cabin you will find the rooms for Senior and Jr. guards. They are here to watch over all of the children and make sure they stay safe, so nothing bad happens to them.

Aviary Photo_130454745300835675

Next fallow your way up the gorgeous spiral staircase upstairs, where you will see a lovely open room. Upstairs you can find the children’s rooms. Both decorated one for boys and another separate room for the girls. The beds are these adorable little ships, they even have a small wheel so they can pretend to be sailing across the seven seas.

Aviary Photo_130454731237133719 Aviary Photo_130454745853873845

Each of the rooms also has a patio, with cute telescopes so the kids can stare up at the nights sky star gazing.

Aviary Photo_130454748542615778

The other side also has a very large veranda with a beautiful fireplace, to keep everyone all toasty warm.

Aviary Photo_130454747698785100

Right outside the log cabin you will find a rope bridge that leads to a large hill, and another rope bridge that fallows up to this beautiful floating island. with old ruins, a small fire pit. Looks like an amazing area to sit around and tell ghost stories 🙂 .

Aviary Photo_130454756281695196

Besides the amazing landscapes. I love the beautiful mountains and volcano’s you can see in the distance, along with the glassy water surrounding the island.

Aviary Photo_130454758586343436

The other amazing aspect of this location, if you are looking to adopt or foster a child. They have a process to set up the right child with the right family. To make sure that everyone meshes well and will get along with each other. Which I think is very important when it comes to adopting, want to make sure everyone gets along together 🙂 .

Things are still being built up on the island, so what I’ve shown here are not the only things you will be able to find. Like always I leave things open for you to explore. I hope everyone takes a moment to get fly back into childhood and take a trip to Neverland. I know I love the motto “Never grow up”, its simple and true.

But, you are only as old as you feel.

P.s.- Keep in mind next month they will be hosting a huge bazaar and gacha event. Make sure to check it out, everyone loves Gacha’s 😀

* Kona Beach *

With, as much rain that I have been dealing with in RL. I needed to take a little break, a trip down to the beach. This is the beach I decided to escape too. A beautiful Island created by Dax & Lilly Kona.
*Kona Beach*

http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Woodridge/201/151/22

KONA-Beache-entrantce-sign_001

What I love about this place, is how relaxing the entire area is. And there are plenty of little spots where you can be alone, and share a romantic moment with that special someone.

KONA-Beache-walkway_001

Little pathways like this, take you to little pools where you can float around. I love this small grotto, the best part is if you continue to fallow the path all the way to the top of the steps, there is a nice area to relax, swim, and watch the sunset bouncing off the ocean shore.

KONA-Beache-pool_001

There is also a little bonfire to spend time around, telling stories and cuddling when the sun finally sets.

KONA-Beache-bon-fire_001

Along with being able to take a nice romantic horseback ride across the beach.

KONA-horse_001

Also point your viewing up to the top of the cliff, you’ll see a giant purple hang-glider.

KONA-Beache-hang-glider_001

But, my two favorite parts I’ve saved for last. There is a momma leather back turtle that pulls her self out of the ocean, and lays her eggs in the sand. And if you stay to wait a moment after she leaves you will get the chance to see some little baby turtles run their little legs into the ocean.

KONA-Beache-Leatherback-Turtle_001KONA-Beache-Leatherback-Turtle-baby_001 And dont forget to fallow the baby turtle into the ocean, so you can see my next favorite part of this beach. The ocean reef below, where you can swim with stingrays, sharks and little fishes.

KONA-Beache-2reef_001 KONA-Beache-3reef_001

And, leaving just a bit of surprise, for everyone these small bit of pictures are not close to everything this beach paradise has to offer. Check every area along the island, there’s small hidden areas just out of view, you may miss otherwise.

http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Woodridge/201/151/22

Have fun spending the day at the beach, catching a bit a surf & sun rays 😀

Electrobit City

Anyone who grew up in the 80’s or has any fond memories of playing Nintendo games will love Electrobit City.

http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Electrobit%20City/128/96/1729

Electrobit City_001At the entrance there is a giant exclamation point. If you click on it you will be taken on a small tutorial that will show you how to explore the areas, and gives you a better idea of what you can do.

Theres a few different areas. A lot is surrounded around Super Mario, you can actually run through the areas just like the video game.

Electrobit City1_001Theres also a cute little bunny friend that you can have attached to you. Theres an area you’ll see him hopping around near the entrance, click on the bunny and hit attach when it pops up on the screen. And now you have a friend who fallows you everywhere you go.

Electrobit City4_001

Theres even an area that is set up looking like a nightclub filled with a giant Nintendo controller, fun laser lights, and a few other add ons.

Electrobit City3club_001

There are so many different areas to explore, where a few of them may not be completely finnished. It looks as though the creators are adding new worlds just like the actual games them selves. Which I think will be very exciting..

Electrobit City2_001

The entrances are hidden in the trees, mushrooms, disc’s, and at the entrances a big door. But make sure to explore everywhere. I was in this area for a long time jumping around, grabbing coins, and finding something new around every turn.

Electrobit City5_001

I loved it, I hope you take the time to jump back into your childhood.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy

Now I was so excited when I randomly found this location a while back. I happened to find it on a random tp.

http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Metis/250/199/199

If anyone has seen the movie or read the book, than you will know what this is (hehe). Basically its the scene with the Whale and the bowl of petunias coming to existence for the first time and their both falling from the sky as the whale starts giving names to things he see and feels. While the bowl of petunias has one thought. 😛 I’ll post up what was said to help those who have not heard of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

“It is important to note that suddenly, and against all probability, a sperm whale had been called into existence, several miles above the surface of an alien planet. But since this is not a naturally tenable position for a whale, this innocent creature had very little time to come to terms with its identity. This is what it thought as it fell: ‘Ahhh! Whoa! What’s happening? Who am I? Why am I here? What’s my purpose in life? What do I mean by ‘who am I’? Okay, okay, calm down, calm down, get a grip now. Ooh, this is an interesting sensation. What is it? It’s a sort of a tingling in my… well, I suppose I better start finding names for things. Let’s call it a… tail! Yeah! Tail! And hey, what’s this roaring sound, whooshing past what I’m suddenly gonna call my head? Wind! Is that a good name? It’ll do. Yeah, this is really exciting! I’m dizzy with anticipation! Or is it the wind? There’s an awful lot of that now, isn’t it? And what’s this thing coming toward me very fast? So big and flat and round, it needs a big wide sounding name like ‘Ow’, ‘Ownge’, ‘Round’, ‘Ground’! That’s it! Ground! Ha! I wonder if it’ll be friends with me? Hello Ground!’ … Curiously, the only thing that went through the mind of the bowl of petunias as it fell, was: ‘Oh no, not again.’ Many have speculated that if we knew exactly why the bowl of petunias had thought that, we should know a lot more about the nature of the universe than we do now.”

And for those not wanting to read that excerpt here is the clip from the movie.

And here is what the whale and petunias look like in-world –

Whale & Petunias

Whale & Petunias

Keep in mind when you tp to this location, it is very high in the sky so you will start falling when you arrive there. So make sure to fly so you dont fall to the ground. But, the whale is very large can’t miss him.

http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Metis/250/199/199

I hope everyone has some fun with this, I know I sure did when I found it. couldn’t stop laughing, one of my favorite scenes in the movie. Besides Marvin the depressed robot . 😛
