*Second Life L.E.A.’s Reflect the Light *

After some exploring around Second Life’s L.E.A. Sim, I found the first location to visit.

Welcome to Reflect the Light

This lovely area was created by Kiesta Aljon

me-LEA-18-reflect-the-light1_001

As you enter you fallow a story

and also get pulled into different emotions

everything is very bright and filled with these beautiful colors surrounded by a dark background,

allowing these lights to really stand out.

Each sculpture you come across is named to reflect the different feelings

they can bring.

me-LEA-18-reflect-the-light4_001

This entire beautiful piece of art was inspired by lines from a play

“All I Really Needed to Know, I Learned in Kindergarten” – Robert Fulgrum

But instead of using the “I’s” they were changed them to “we”

So everyone could be put into the story.

“We are not the light,
or the source of the light.
But we can reflect the light,
into the dark hearts
of man.”
me-LEA-18-reflect-the-light2_001
There are also these doors you will find as you walk through these beautiful lights.
me-LEA-18-reflect-the-light3doors_001
Each door takes you to areas filled with beautiful lights & sculptures.

I hope everyone heads over to this beautiful piece of emotion & light.
You wont regret it.

See you all soon ~

* SL Star Wars – Planet of Taris *

I had been to this location a while ago. And with talk of the new Star Wars movie it reminded me of this spot. So, I wanted to check it out & let everyone know of this great place.

Star Wars Skyline

Welcome to Planet of Taris / Furious Star Wars Avatars

http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/The%20Outer%20Rim/230/160/75

The Furious Star Wars Avatars is a shop that they have with different items that would fall into the Star Wars world. They have some pretty cool items to check out.

Furious Star Wars Avatars

And when you first land on the Planet of Taris you will be in this building and not sure where to head to. There are a few different rooms to see in here. Along with some characters, you will see a blue tag over the tops of their heads. This is to help you know what their names are. Walk up to each character and click on them see what they have to say.

Star Wars

You will find a door that will lead you outside, when you get there grab the HUD on the sign to the right. The really cool thing about The Planet of Taris is you can completely interact with almost everything.

Star Wars Alien girl

When you get the HUD on look at local chat, along with clicking on characters to find out what the objectives are. You get to go around this planet talking to different people and doing different hunts. The further you go some may get more complicated.

Star Wars - Jabba the Hutt

The nice thing you can have a few different hunts going on at once if you happen to get stumped. Bring some friends with you, since there is a one where you will be able to do some Swoop Racing. Like seen in the movies. Its a lot of fun.

Star Wars Swoop RaceStar Wars Swoop Race

There are lots of different buildings and people to meet all over.

Star Wars

Up near the starting area where you first landed, there is a ship that lands to pick people up every so often. And from here you can fly to other planets and locations, where you can find other people for different objections to get by. But, for those who are not interested in doing the hunts this is still a really fun place to explore. Lots of land and plenty to see.

Star Wars Tree

The Planet of Taris is a wonderful escape into the world of Star Wars. Grab some friends and head over here. 😀

This place is intense. When I landed I was not expecting it to be as crazy and exciting as it turned out to be. When you land here, you will see some signs near you explaining a bit about the land. There is a HUD you wear so you can fully immerse yourself into this area. Make sure to grab that off of the tall sign near the landing.

The first thing I did when I got here was hop on a kayak and started to explore from the rivers. I thought this was a great way to see a bit of everything. From lil’ colorful froggies-

Aviary Photo_130661354638935066

To beautiful birds and native huts

Aviary Photo_130661366086759411

Busted up rope bridges ( pass over these with caution )

Aviary Photo_130661353545496505And I also came near this random opening in a mountain. There was a camera above the entrance, so I  made sure to pass by carefully. Hopefully this wasn’t an entrance for loggers living in the area….

Aviary Photo_130661365130135757

After my tour through the water I decided to hop off the kayak near by and started to check out the area by foot. This is a giant 5 SIM Forest, so there is plenty to view while you are here.

Aviary Photo_130661343177189516

As I was wandering around I found some villages, and I was glad to see that they were all very friendly to me being a new comer. I just let them know I was exploring, they wished me well along with warning me to be careful about the dangers in the forest. I said thank you and headed deeper into the forest.

Aviary Photo_130661338666767918Aviary Photo_130661364347460256I found myself passing by beautiful ruins and waterfalls.

Aviary Photo_130661339614969418Near this waterfall I found a Giant Ruin with two Snake people statues outside the entrance. Definitely frightening, but I headed towards them from my curiosity. This was a very spooky looking area.

Aviary Photo_130661337901873038Not far from here I found a giant Mayan Temple, that even had a secret passageway ( I will leave the entrance for you to find 😀 ).

Aviary Photo_130661362033288031 Then I started walking through the lush forest my eyes wide with everything I’ve already seen, feeling way to comfortable with my surroundings.

Aviary Photo_130661361016761597I ended up getting chased by a crocodile!!!

Aviary Photo_130661336995944183

And as I ran away out of terror, I stepped onto of a snake. Which pissed him off and I was bit. Things were blurry and slightly blank.

Aviary Photo_130661340507789258Now being injured and a bit woozey, I’m glad I still manged to get away. I found a nearby rope ladder and headed for higher ground.

Aviary Photo_130661341188595711The site was amazing from here, being able to see the entire forest.

Aviary Photo_130661351816343085

I spent the last of my adventure sitting above the canopy, taking in the beauty that I saw all around.

Aviary Photo_130661351088268256

So, now you know what awaits you in The Amazon. I say go for it, there is so much beauty to this place. And so much more left to see.

I hope you all take a chance and head into the jungle. You never know what you may find. But, you wont know unless you go.

* Midway State Fair *

What goes along with summer time fun, fairs. Well at least for me they’ve always been around. Growing up I use to love going to them getting on the rides or checking out the animals.

So, This is what I found.

http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Morrill/211/57/24

The Midway State Fair !!!

When you land at the entrance the first thing you see if the Midway Bandstand. A place for the local live music and bands.

County-Fair-Midway-Bandstand-entrance_001

And what would a fair be complete without rides, food stands, and ticket stands.

Right near the entrance the next thing you see are these awesome fair rides.

A Roller Coaster, Log ride, Bumper cars, Ferris Wheel, & The Pirate Ship.

County-Fair-Midway-Bandstand-rides_001

They also have a swing ride, Go-Carts, The Giant-drop, and my favorite The Freak-OUT!!

County-Fair-Midway-Bandstand-rides1_001

Along with popcorn and other food stands. Don’t forget to grab your tickets~

Don’t miss the Lava Maze, where you can grab some items find out how well you can maneuver your self and take out the evil spider in the end 😛

County-Fair-Midway-Bandstand-Lava-maze_001

There are animals, a large dance barn, and pavilions for relaxing or listening to speakers.

County-Fair-Midway-Bandstand-dancebarn&speakpavilion_001

Near the Dance barn you can learn about Germs how they affect us, and also about tornado’s and the impact they have.

County-Fair-Midway-Bandstand-tornado&germs_001

There’s a beautiful garden, and also a balloon ride to take you from one side of the fair to the other.

You can also view the Art Gallery, and can get involved with it as well. Right out side there is a sign about a photo contest they are hosting.

County-Fair-Midway-Bandstand-art-gallery_001

Beyond just being a fair for great rides, the farm animals, and the treats. You can also go through and learn a few things. They are celebrating 100 years at the fair for spreading knowledge about a variety of different areas.

County-Fair-Midway-100yrs-knowledge_001

From homes and helping create better areas for people with disabilities.

County-Fair-Midway-LiveAbilityHome_001

If you find yourself having trouble finding your way around, there are small signs around the fair to help you get to where you want to go. And, you can even tour around on a Segway.

County-Fair-Midway-help-sign_001

Besides being a State Fair there is a small little town set up on the outskirts, where you can learn about a variety of different things. From Japanese beetles, to the Avian influenza, Winter Safety and how these things can affect us.

This is a very large SIM with lots of different areas to explore, and different events going on throughout this place. Take a bit of time to explore, I had a wonderful time wandering around. I love fairs they always hold a special place in my heart from growing up.

I hope everyone has as much fun as I did here.

* Rico’s Tea House *

After a stressful week or day, everyone needs somewhere to be able to just kick back and relax.

http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Isle%20of%20Flux/204/86/27

Aviary Photo_130451260514470141

This was my goal, and I think I found it at Rico’s Tea House.

Aviary Photo_130451227715968725

From right when you land, the whole set up and landscaping of the sim, is very relaxing and comforting. So first thing I did was grab a seat in front of the shop, and started to take in everything that I could see around me.

Right behind me in the picture is a very picturesque bay, with a few sailboats filling up the docks. Even spending a bit of time by the water was wonderful.

Aviary Photo_130451220766322963

Besides the bay you can also find walkways that lead to fountains, little lemonade stands, and beautiful gardens.

Aviary Photo_130451274723741639

As for the Tea House its self I loved the decor inside, I could look at it everyday. The whole set up is beautiful even at first glance.

Aviary Photo_130451228997551571

Right as you step inside you find yourself in a room with plenty of seating, and filled with roses. The first thing that caught my eye was the chandelier which is amazing.

Aviary Photo_130451257957813915

Directly to the left of this room is a similar area, but has tables and chairs. The tables filled with cupcakes, coffee, tea, macarons, cakes and other delicious treats.

Aviary Photo_130451259297424980

And right agaisnt the wall, you can find anything your little heart may desire. (well in treats at least 🙂  )

Aviary Photo_130451259884300922

If sitting inside is not your thing, and you may be looking for something a bit more private. There are these beautiful silk covered tents outside with seating also. Spend sometime surrounded by lavender and lemon trees.

Aviary Photo_130451261212099988

Besides what I have shown you, this isnt half of what you can see. There is even a pool on top of a hill, but I’ll leave that for everyone to explore. The best part about Rico’s is –

Aviary Photo_130451266007657574They are always open!!!

So, what are you waiting for. Take a peaceful break, or bring that special someone you’ve been trying to find a way to ask out. Having a cup of coffee is always a great ice breaker.

http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Isle%20of%20Flux/204/86/27

I hope everyone enjoys this Tea House as much as I have.
